ABOUT IME
The Institute of Medical Education (IME), at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), plays an important part in placing JSMU among the high-ranking universities of the country. The underlying role of this institute is to ensure continuous quality improvement in the entire spectrum of educational activities at the University and nationally, aligned with educational principles and philosophies.
The Institute of Medical Education (IME), JSMU currently oversees the development of undergraduate and postgraduate curricula and advises on appropriate teaching, learning and assessment methods. It also facilitates faculty development through its Certificate, Diploma and Master programs in Health Professions Education. Through its Professional Development Center (PDC) it conducts targeted skills development of undergraduate students, residents and healthcare practitioners.
Currently, the major functions of IME are advising in educational policies and procedures that are aligned with educational theories and principles and ensuring enhancement of educational practices. For this it liaises closely with the various sections, departments and institutions of JSMU.
