The Department’s Publications Unit edits and proofreads any print material in any form including:

  • panaflex displays
  • invitation cards
  • shields and certificates
  • books
  • Booklets
  • reports
  • prospectus
  • file folders
  • letterheads
  • logos
  • event-related material
  • visiting cards
  • official newspaper advertisements
  • printed material meant for public dissemination
  • The graphic designer ensures documents conform to the University’s design, style, and brand guidelines.

    The Department also has the responsibility of producing the Newsletter and the HEC and PMDC recognized research journal ‘Annals of Jinnah Sindh Medical University’ (AJSMU) published in collaboration with the Research Department. The Department also maintains the Open Journal System website for AJSMU in collaboration with the Research Department.

2. Media Relations:

The Department maintains working relationships with key figures from print and electronic media. The objectives are to keep the reporters and key media persons informed about the University’s role in its sector and welcome them to use this open channel of communication from the University. Faculty and leadership’s appearance on electronic and print media is facilitated and monitored.

3. Digital Media Management:

The Communication Office handles the University’s social media and web presence by operating official accounts. Media campaigns, publicity for events, and creating content for social media is also a part of Communication Office’s portfolio. Photography and Videography services are provided for University’s events and projects. Multimedia projects and video messages of key figures are also produced by the Department. The social media accounts being managed are on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The Facebook account has reached 20,000 followers.

4. Internal Communication:

The Department works to provide relevant information across all constituents of JSMU to ensure uniformity of direction.
